Is there any difference in the gear box as I want to do a beta1-2 swap including box but just want to know if the drive shafts ect are the same.

tons of people have swapped to a beta II transmission.. its a DIRECT swap, just need to grind down the rear roll stop bracket.

gearing is a TAD longer in the beta II, but thats it.

i had a beta II trans in my tib.

beta2 tranny is WAYYY better for trips and also 3rd/4th pulls way longer. 4th gear is like 120mph after swap

The beta2 in the elantra has longer gearing. The one in the GK does not. It has a shorter FGR making the gears closer together.

Few important things to add;
G4GF (beta1 2.0L)
MAF
comp ratio 10.3:1
hydraulic lifters

G4GC (beta2)
MAP
comp ratio 10:1
mechanical sim based valves

G4GC (beta2)
MAF
CVVT on the intake side
comp ratio 10:1

Careful, because there is actually 3 different beta 2 heads. The main thing to look for is MAP or MAF.

I read that beta 2 tranny is a direct swap. Does that mean that I can use a beta2 clutch in my beta1 (stock tranny)?
