just change the block/head. Keep the Beta1 sensors and Beta1 Intake manifold/exhaust and you'll be fine.

You'll also want to swap the speedo sensor from your tranny to the new tranny, but the reverse switch is the same.

Beta2 engine is very boost friendly becaues of the MAP sensor.

If you were to swap everything, you would need new ECU, and some more wiring from beta2.

If you were to replace head I think you are going to have problems with RD ECU because of cams/timing. Tranny's have very long gearing.

The Beta2's (Elantra and GK) use a totally different wiring system (CANN digital signal vs normal wire analog signal). You would litterally have to replace 90 to 95% of the wiring, swap out airbag sensors, and all the Misc sensors an acuators...etc..etc... It ain't fricking worth it.

For the cost/complication, it's not worth swaping over to the Beta2 ECU/wiring. Just use the Beta1 parts and wireing/ECU and add on a piggy back to deal with boost.
