Okay, so as a few of you may know, on Wednesday I'm getting on a plane and I'm buying a 5spd tib with a 50k on it.
My plan is to swap the engine and trans into my car, then take my current engine/trans and put it into that car, then have 2 working tibs. Probably fix up and and sell the other one for cheap, or possibly part out.
Anyway, I have some questions containing the engine swaps .. will I need new mounts? Since I'm swapping out an engine with a trans, I won't have to do any major wiring will I? Some of the pix in the auto to manual DIY are gone..how many steps will be eliminated because I already have the engine with the trans?
Could someone who's knowledgeable just do a QUICK step by step process for me for swapping a 5spd trans and engine into my automatic 115k engine, and then for taking the automatic and 115k engine and putting into the body of the old 5spd 50k engine?

Thanks!

First, how much are you paying for that tib? Could have gotten my car with 49k mi and just swapped a few little things off your current tib into mine and then sold your other car, instead of doing such major job to both cars.

But anyways, you will need to take care of the tranny wiring and I think that's about it.

with two cars infront of you.. one auto and one manual, it should be quite obvious what needs to be done.

This is also the perfect time to take care of some issues like engine and transmission mounts, maybe a lightweight flywheel, and the life. Things that are hard to do when the transmission is in place.

OP I'm getting the car for real cheap, it would have cost me a lot more to buy your tib and swap bodies instead of engines.

Don't have the cash for a $400 Fidanza, but is this Flywheel a POS? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW

Contact the folks that did the writeups and ask them for the pictures. Let me know when you have them so I can upload them to the site so they don't get lost again.

why not keep both and make the auto your daily driver and put the money in the manual one?
