Whats up tunerz, I started the swap, today is day 2, 18 hours so far, all by my self, almost done, tomorrow I should be able to wrap it up.
What did I get myself into ?????????????????
What a pain in the ass it was trying to get the brake pedal and clutch in.
for the brake pedal I ended up using the brake arm on the autos mount, cause IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE BRAKE PEDAL MOUNT, take my word for it, I read somewhere that someone dremeled half the brake pedal off, now I know why.
The clutch pedal was a nightmare, you have to drill your own hole almost an inch and a half wide, but it has to be a perfect circle, and then drill 2 holes for the clutch pedal mount bolts to go thru the firewall. That can only be done after the autos TCU has been removed, which brings me to a question.
???? on the auto TCU, there is a smaller box, black, like 2 x 3 x 4 inch dimension, that is clipped on to the TCU mount bracket, is it part of the TCU, or is it something else.
The shifter cables, was a royal pain in the ass as well, you have to take off the entire center console, then the metal plate that is behind it, in order to get to the 2 bolts that hold the grommet in place at the fire wall, then you have to cut the circular hole out some more in order for the shift cable's square grommet to fit into, in order to bolt at least one side into the fire wall, I gave up on that one because there is absolutely no room to cut either from inside the car or from the engine bay, YOU NEED A DREMEL WITH A SMALL CUTTING BIT< SMALL MEANING NO BIGGER THAN A HALF INCH IN DIAMETER< then you would have an easier time cutting from the engine bay. I will have to do something tomorrow, beacause if its not bolted in, water and/or cold air will come rushing in thru the opening, both of which are not good.
As for dropping the tranny, just follow the steps on www.hmaservice.com/webtech , and you should be fine.
So tomorrow I will mount the manual tranny
do the electrical
bleed out the master cylinder
install the shifter assembly
then put the wheels back on
this swap is definetley not something for a beginner, but it can be done if you have common automotive sense.
more to come....

Here are some handy tools for making large holes in panels for cables, wires, or bolts.

These step up to different diameters as they go further in, and can be used to drill new holes or to enlarge existing ones.

I didn't have any problems like that with the brake pedal. The auto pedal came out fine and the manual one went in fairly easily. The gold and black boxes you can get rid of.
no way, the mount kept getting stuck on top of the steering colum bracket, and it wouldnt slide off the bolts, what a pain
and I wish I had those tools to drill with, man that would have made life easy, but i have a dremel now for tomorrow, so i can do the shift cable hole nice and neat
