I've been toying with this idea for several years and finally deicded just lately that I wanted to build a engine/tranny combo for my tib.

I first was just going to be a stock 350 just for something to do but i would have nothing to stick it in. I obviously need a donor motor/trans so i don't have to take mine out but living in kansas this isn't much import stuff going on. after driving dweet's car home this weeken it was very noticable that i need a manual tranny plus some other things done to achieve the power his had. If anyone could tell me some good places to possibly get a 2.0 motor with trans woudl be much appreciated. anywheres in the states is no big deal, thanks for your time.

Now why would you want a small block chevy in your Tib? You like headaches I take it? That would be a nightmare and a half, and hardly worth it. People do big swaps like that in cars like RX-7's and Maita's because they are light and small. We aren't that light...

dude, if you would've read it correctly I said I always wanted to rebuild a engine, but have decided to build a 2.0 for my tib.

being a welder by trade can be a very boring job and it gets you to thinking about things in your offtime that you would like to do. there is no way in hell i would build a 350 for my tib, that's absolutely stupid, lol. I just want to build a engine and trying to find a place that would supply a engine/tranny combo.

i'm not wanting to get crazy with this project. I would finally like to see around 250 to 270 WHP but still would like to get around 25mpg/hwy. think it could be done?

well you need to ask yourself the following question:

do you want to go the tried & mostly true route that most are going (dual injectors & smt6) or would you want to experiment with something else, and do you have the extra funds required to get something running that doesnt have much support?

for a motor, ebay really is the best. also www.car-part.com, call up junkers and see if they'll ship.

there really are a ton of motors for cheap. i would almost say just make the mods to the stuff you have, apart from switching out for a manual tranny.

ok, thanks guys. I'll give ebay a try since there were a few 2.0's there when i checked but i guess what i really was looking for was a place that somebody has used once in a engine project that they received good service from is all.

oh, lol.

you're building up a hyundai. there is no such thing. wink1.gif

the only real hyundai performance shop that i know of is in canada. denisst99 works there and is a member here.

but yeah for actually picking up a motor & trans you're going to have to junkyard dog it. i remember there was a shop in korea that did what you are looking for, but it was super expensive, and then shipping on top of that...my god.
