Default Anyone ever heard of this company?

I was browsing through the net and encountered a company called Random Technology!!!!!!
They make performance hi-flow cat converters and the Dyno numbers which they have posted on their site seem pretty impressive!!
They have a few cars dynoyed and just to name a few thaey had:
1998 Camero Z28 with stock exhaust running 284.6WHP and 304Lbs of Torque. With the Random Cat converter with exhaust it ran 301.3WHP and 320.lbs of torque
Also a Nissan maxima running 152.4WHP and 155.5 lbs of Torque. With the Random cat converter it did 166.8WHP and 171.4 Lbs of Torque

It also claims that a 3 inch diamater Cat flows about 475CFM or less and the Random Cat flows 502CFM at the same test pressure.

There are also a few other cars dynoyed and the numbers are also impressive.
Im on the market in purchasing a Hi-flow Cat for my Turbo set-up.I need a 2.5 Inch inlet and was considering the random technology Hi flow cat but was wondering if anyone has heard of this company or has anyone installed it on their cars.
Was wondering whats a good brand to go with

2UNIQ,

Random Technology has been around for several years... I believe that they are based out of one of the suburbs of Atlanta.
They make alot of the Cats for many of the high performance emission legal exhaust systems that tuners sell.

I have one for my RX-7.. for use during emmissions testing. I don't know about every application but my 3" cat flows very well but it is as loud as my completely open midpipe with no cat.

It is effective only in cars with very restrictive exhaust piping or further modified cars. I'm not sure how much gain you will benefit from in the Hyundai Beta engines since the main restriction is in the exhaust head design. If the head was ported, I think that the gains would be significant.

Cheuk!
I already have done cylinder head work to the Tibby.I had a port and polished job done last year.It was just a mild job done to the head nothing extreme. It was more of a clean up job.
Since your saying it will benefit with head work, then ill just have to call them on Monday to see what they say?
The prices are also pretty high but probably well worth it!!
What other companies are good to choose for hi flow cats?

Random Technologies prices are just about the highest in the industry. I would reccomend catco or carsound cats first.

I would also only do it if your entire exhaust has been replaced, or if you are planning on replacing your entire exhaust. Go with the same diameter cat as the piping you are using. 2.5" with 2.5", 3" with 3"..etc.

I currently have a carsound hi flow cat on my Tibby.I installed the 2.25ich inlet cat to my 2.25 inch stainless steel exhaust last year.
Since im going with 2.5ich exhaust i will be getting the matching 2.5inch inlet cat when i install my complete exhaust.
I cant seem to find anyone that makes 2.5 mandrel bend exhaust(except HVE)
I might just get a custom 2.5inch press bend as it wont be much of difference betwwen the press and mandrel bend
Actually my friend knows Richard the owner of Brullen exhaust.I wanna see if he can make me a custom 2.5inch mandrel bend exhaust for my 1.8L Tibby!!!!!!
I cant see it to be any harder than the current 2.0L exhaust they carry for the tibby. If anything the piping would be easier to make for my 1.8L cause of my cat thats located underneath the car and doesnt require as much piping?

If you are going to do the entire exhaust, just buy the catalytic converter... it is alot cheaper.... then have your shop weld it in to your system.

With the ported head and the soon to be turbo, its a good idea to have a high flow cat.... but no cat will be even better

Oh, I would recommend a 3" with a turbo. We have found that as usual, bigger is better with turbo exhaust systems.
I personally do not like CATCO converters, I don't think that they are as good as the Random Tech converters.

Cheuk!!
Im hearing with a 3inch exhaust its gonna sound like crap VERY LAGGY!!!
Plus im only running low boost up to 8-9PSI maybe 10PSI on special races and 2.5INCH exhaust should be good enough!!!

You will have LESS lag with the 3" exhaust.
Turbo systems are different from NA applications, where a little backpressure maybe helpful for low in torque in the NA cars. Remember the turbo will provide all the backpressure you need and the more open the exhaust path is after the turbo... the faster it will spool up.

You maybe ok with the smaller exhaust... most of our turbos run 15+ psi.
The sound is usually all from the muffler... I have not noticed a significant change in the sound from going with a larger exhaust in the Tibbys.
