Default Another reason why I should have bought a standard...

So I was making myself a Random special the other day. Like all you guys have, but the problem for me is that my auto tranny is enormous and there is physically no room to run the pipe downwards to cold air. So instead I had to run the pipe along side the battery and the APC cone filter sits right above/behind my rad fan. The filter is close to the front grill, so perhaps I am getting some cold air. I was thinking of making a box to surround the filter and gaurd it from the heat the comes from behind and below it. What d'you think?
Thanks.

the problem with having your cone behind the radiator fan is that its carring all the heat from radiator and negating your CAI.

hence why they call it warm air wink You can always try making a random-special and routing around the tranny to get into the fenderwell

The RS-CAI on the accents is rather different than the Tiburon/Elantra version. The piping CAN and WILL fit between the tranny and the front frame member, but it is not easy. There is 2.75" of clearance.

For the accents, I reccomend 2.25" or 2" piping, not 2.5" The motor just can't pull enough to get the air speed up in a 2.5" tube.

The tubing is also LONGER in the accent than the tibby, you'll need about 32" of tubing, not the 26-28" for tibby/elantra.
