I didnt know where to put this so feel free to move it if i put it in the wrong spot, but i am wondering what an airram does. Correct me if i am wrong but i think it allows the mixture of gas and air to have more oxygen, therefore getting more hp. But that is just a guess, so anyone with the correct information can you let me know. Yeah i feel stupid asking too.....

ram air... to use the correct term. Uses the speed of the car and a specially designed scoop to FORCE air into the intake by using the speed of the air passing over the car. It is a form of Forced Induction that is both not widely used and not very efficent. Yes, it costs nothing to run (turbos and Sc do cost some power) but the power increase you get is not consistant. You could be driving at 60mph and getting an extra 20 hp from the high pressure air being foced down the engine.. and have a semi pull in front of you and stall that air..

But in all things.. you can't get something for nothing.

It was a valid question.. and it does work if you can keep a constant flow of air into the scoop. One of the guys on the fiat site I frequent did it with his spider. What is cool about it, with the carbs and everything.. if the car is sitting their idling and a breeze hits the grill just right (where the intake is) you can actually hear the revs rise.

I think he's talking about the AIRRAM from Kspec which is just a intake manifold, which is still true that it provides more oxygen.
