Hello everyone once more, today was the day that I finally had the 1.8 cam swap on my 2.0 beta with the obx cam gear, the install went "ok" but when 1st it was started with the 1.8 cams the engine was moving viciously back and forth but it sounded ohhh so sweet because it was so aggressive sounding. turned it off and check the timing n started again and it was great, the engine sounded healthy but with a twist on high rpm, it defenately sounded much more aggresive on high rpm. Now I have read much about the 1.8 cam swap on the 2.0 beta. What are the effects of the 2.0 intake cam on the 1.8 beta? because now my other tiburon is not currently running because I didnt want to bent valves if something was wrong, so I just waited until I asked here.

If I am correct the 1.8l cam has more duration than the 2.0l and thats it.... REALLY you shouldent of noticed anything, if you engine is running with noticably "lope" I would check and make sure you have the timeing right and it isnt a link off...

As for putting a 2.0 in a 1.8 there would be no gains..

i think he was wondering if you could just use the 2.0 cam in the 1.8. that said, if the 1.8 more duration, wouldnt the 2.0 in fact have that amount less? and in that case it would just be a little worse? i have no idea just a theory

yeah it will swap, no gains, no losses (IMO)

Disconnect the batt to reset the ecu on the swap you just did...and make sure your cam gear it set at 0deg...if you know what your doing feel free to advance a deg or so

yes lolz acutally the battery died on us while doing the swap cuz we had doors, n trunk open so it resetted itself, and yes the cam was 0 degrees tune, should I advance it +1 when I go 1/4 run this saturday? what are the effects of +1 degree.

dude, if you don't know enough about adjusting your timing, you really should read up before you start messing with it
