So could anyone explain if 4-1 would be better on a manual and what the 4-2-1 accomplishes vs. a 4-1?

I found the answer. The 4-2-1 headers provide more torque at lower rpm's, but you lose some in the top end. So more torque is better for the auto, whereas for manuals losing some torque in the low end is ok.

So the 4-1 headers are better for manuals since the torque loss from the 4-1 headers is made up for by the gain in the top end.

but how about the top end... how much will i loose on the top end with the 4-2-1 compaired to the 4-1 header? and is the gain of top end with the 4-1's going to be worth giving up some low end torque from the 4-2-1's? Valdar your info sonds like i should go with the 4-2-1's but im just looking for any info i can get before i place my order. thanks your a big help i mean no matter what header im gona put on ill still have a big gain from the regulaer stock exhaust right? tongue.gif tongue.gif
oh keep in mind i do have a automatic trans.

Alright, someone correct me if i'm wrong, but the auto's need the extra torque on the low end for some reason (if anyone knows why please explain). I imagine that you'd have a harder time getting off the line than you already do if you install the 4-1 headers.
But the 4-2-1 headers will give you a better jump off the line with your loss coming in the higher rpm range. Hope that helps you. Again I'm learning to, but search the board for "headers" and there is usually a lot of info.
