Hi all, I'm new to this site. I have looked threw the posts and haven't found anything about this problem.

Does anyone else have a idle vibration that shakes the steering wheel and dash on there 2001 tibs i4?

I have taken it iinto the dealer twice and both times they have said that it is normal

I have tryed changing my plug(NGK V Grove) but hat didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas

64k on the car.

Thanks

C

Vibration as in Noise?

Your idle is probably set too low.

no not noise, just vibrating, shaking of the steering wheel.

idle is at around 1000-900

Can you manaully change the idle?

Yeah, yours is definatly to high.

You should be able to run the Idle Adjustment screw on the Throttle Body to lower your idle.

won't lowering my idle make my car vibrate more?

When I step on the gas alittle the vibration goes away.

yeah, it prolly would make it vibrate more. tell the dealer to quit being lazy asses and fix it, any vibrations should not be normal.

to change the idle, look on your throttle body(in between the intake system and intake manifold). follow the throttle lines connected to it. there will be a nut somewhere on it, turning it will either raise or lower idle.

my car makes all kinds of vibrating noises when it is idling. Not so much in the warm weather, but when it is cool out it makes a hell of a racket. I have not been able to figure out where the problem is. Sounds like it behind the dash somewhere. I have taken it to the dealer, but they said "we didn't have time to really find out where the sound is coming from" yeah, right, thanks for the help, lol.
