windows are done and working.

For about 10 minutes I was getting frustrated. The red wire is barely too short to reach my battery (optima blue top, so terminals are further away). I'd have to hang it on my mirror point sticking up and run around and connect it, then run back. I couldn't get my passenger side to work and then realized, "hey dumbass, check the window lock." Sure enough, I had hit the window lock when taking the door panel off. Everything works as of now. Now to get my sunroof connected

oh yeah, and I messed with the POT thing and I couldn't notice any difference, whether half way, or either extreme.

I guess judging by my two posts, it took about 2 hours to do. Only the third time taking off door panels so I took my time. Listening to music at the same time and juggling the door panel so I could test it on the battery. I just tapped it into the 30Amp fuse in the fusebox and it's working (just replaced existing fuse and stuck the mini one in). Anyone know what that fuse controls? "RR" - I think it's the Rear glass defogger.

Edit:
Make sure you test the windows going up and down with the door closed if at all possible. Adjust the POT with doors closed. I did it with doors open and had no problem. Once I put it all back together, tried it with doors closed, and passenger window stops about 1" short of being fully closed because it noticed some resistance. Gotta pull the panel off tomorrow and adjust it mad.gif

When it comes to the getting in the back bit to do the sunroof relay............................"6. Get in the back seat. The plastic cover that is above your head at the back of the headliner needs to come off. The only way to do so is to work your fingers under it and pull it off. Don't YANK it, as you'll break something. Try to be gentle, but get it off. I can't remember if you need to loosen the side panels first or not. The deal is you need enough room to be able to pull down on the headliner enough to reach the sunroof motor assembly. Just be careful, and remove just what you need to to accomplish this."

Am I being thick or something, my '00 Tiburon/Coupe doesnt have a plastic cover above my head! There is a little hole covered by a plastic cap which is for the manual sunroof mechanism incase the electric breaks. How do I get to the sunroof motor assembly 02.gif

Follow the directions, and sit BACK. If you sit BACK in the seat< and look up there is a plastic cover that goes all the way from left to right across the BACK end of the headliner. If yours isn't there, it's missing, and should look horrible.

So, I'm installing the window relay and I don't want to connect it directly to the battery. I'm looking at connecting it to the 30A fuse in the fuse box inside the cabin but I'm not sure how. Majik mentioned fusetaps but I'm not sure how they really work also I was wondering what other ways there were?

You HAVE to connect it directly to the battery, it's the only way the system will work my man.

See, it's gotta have power, to put the windows up, after the car is off and the key is out of the ignition. And it needs almost 30 amps of power. Nothing in the interior will give you that at that time.

It's not a big deal, really easy to do. I can get pics of how I did it, if they aren't already up.

According to Webtech the fuse in spot 5 that I was going to hook it up to is 30A and is always hot.

There isn't a pic of what you did but I''d be willing to consider doing it direct to the battery. So, if u can take a pic when you get a moment then that would be great.

I'm remembering a red wire that had a mini fuse on the end of it.... I just pulled the old 30amp fuse out in my fusebox and put that one in. Worked fine for me, still works. The mini fuse went right into the fuse box in the floorboard. Windows roll up after car is shut off
