Ok, I've looked just about everywhere on this site and others for help. I had a wing similar to the shark wing and it got ripped off at a car wash, I was lucky enough to finally find the oem shark wing on ebay. This wing came with bolts already coming out at the bottom, my question is, how am i supposed to fit and install it when i can't lay it flush on the car? Sorry if i didn't look hard enough here, but the wings been sitting in my basement for awhile because of this.

slide a piece of paper or cardboard over the mounting bolts and cut out the shape of the bases of the wing (that will contact the hatch surface). Now you should have three templates. OEM shark wings from the manufacturer (or dealership) should come with these..

Then measure the distance (exactly) between the bolt holes from base to base, place the templates centered on the hatch and ensure the distances between bolt holes on your templates match up to your measurments of the actual wing. Now you're ready to drill.

Before doing all that I'd pop the plastic trim pieces of the underside of the hatch so you can see where you're holes will be coming out and make sure nothing interferes. Also wiring from the center post may need a hole drilled as well (for 3rd brake light).
