seat brackets
i know spike covered some of this on another thread but i was wondering if we can get a good explanation of the "H" patern way he was talking about.
i just took out my passenger seat and i am going to try and find a way to use my stock sliders and stuff.
if i figure something out and get the new seats mounted then i will also do a detailed write up for both seats.
i will take pictures of everything and have pics posted to my cardomain page.
i will let you all know soon.

well i have it figured out. after 4 hours of doodling with the stock sliders, i came up with a way to modify the sliders to fit any aftermarket seat so there would be no need to buy the universal sliders.
there is a catch to it though, if you do modify the stock sliders, you WILL NOT be able to use them on the stock seats again.
also, your stock seats will become pretty much worthless if you wanted to sell them in the future.
if anyone is intersted in my little idea then i will have more info by monday and i should also have my seats mounted by then and i will have many nice pictures of step by step of what i did.
my sliders are already modified all i have to do is buy about a 4 foot piece of angle iron.
my idea is no where as easy as what spike posted about the "H" frame but it may be a little cheaper and you will be able to use your stock sliders.
well my idea would have been easy for me if i would have had some real nice power tools, instead all i had was hand tools and my arms are killing me.
there is no need for welding, all of this is a bolt in idea, although i would'nt rule out any welding. i may try it both ways and see what i like better but i am going for all bolt in.
i will keep you all posted on the out come

I hope it works out for you. I was thinking of something similar to what you are doing but, I won't be able to install my seats this way. I don't want to destroy my stock seats. I am going to use them in the winter. Or I will try and sell them to someone who only has cloth interior.
I can't wait to see it all installed.

well aft a few hours of brain storming i have found out that the stock sliders can work if your a midget.
everything mounts on real good and everything works but i am 6' 4" and if i sit up straight then my head will be smashed in the roof.
i figure i will just mount the seats to the floor and not use sliders so the seats will be fixed to me. good thing for me so nobody can drive my car unless they are my height.
