Programming a Remote?
We were finally able to get my fiance into a 2004 Sonata to replace the 2003 Santa Fe (ice in TN on an off ramp combined with concrete abuttment = totaled car).
The woman who had the car before us had pretty long nail because the buttons are destroyed on both remotes. A remote at the dealership costs 165$ new. Has anyone figured out how to get a used remote from another car and reprogram it for use with another car? |
if its just the rubber parts of the buttons. buy a used remote with good rubber buttons and then just swap out the rubber piece into your remote.

sometimes that is a disadvantage of being an engineer... you overlook the obvious...
Thank you for the tip... I'll just need to get a few remotes to see how to open them up without destroying them... (no screws holding them together). |
if you remove the key ring you can slide a coin in the back of it and twist it open. or the same procedure but on the sides of the remote with a small flat head
