ok putting a new cd player in and i dont know where to get a face plate to fit one in. im just really lost and confused lol, oh is there something i can plug my amp to my stock stereo
|
Ya it taps off the speaker wires to run rca wires.
And youre asking about the install kit? Ebay has them, Best buy, circuit city. You will need the wiring harness also from one of those places. |
You can't tap off speakers to run RCAs you need a High Level -> Low Level converter. You can pick one up at any stereo shop or walmart. Low level RCAs take about 1-8V at very low amperage. Speaker outputs are high voltage and high amperage. You must use a converter.

I didnt know what the damn thing is called. I just know you wire it to the speaker wires and it has a plug for the rcas to be ran. Ive used 20 of them but dont remember the name.
I know you cant just run them from the speaker wires I meant to use the box thing. |
is it better just to get a new stereo?? so i dont have to tap off the speakers.
|
Generally if you are running an amp ya it would be best to just get a new one. Will sound better and be easier to do everything.

ok cool thanks, yea im going to winchester discount audio to find everything, so hopefully ill have it all in by the end of the day

if you're buying a single DIN and currently have a double DIN, you'll need a vehicle specific 'dash kit' to make it fit with the pocket underneath. Most Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. will have this. You'll also need the wiring harness specific for your car to allow you to wire the aftermarket harness on the CD player to the car. l
