Introduction:
If you have one of the following codes this DIY may be for you

P0506 Idle RPM Lower Than Expected
P0507 Idle RPM Higher Than Expected
P1510 Idle Speed Control Actuator Opening Circuit Shorted
P1552 Idle Speed Control Actuator Closing Circuit Shorted
P1513 Idle Speed Control Actuator Opening Circuit Open
P1553 Idle Speed Control Actuator Closing Circuit Open

I replaced the Idle Speed Control Actuator as a part of troubleshooting a rough idle. I took pictures for this DIY.

The Idle Speed Control Actuator, also known as the Idle air bypass, or the Intake Air Controller is a variable valve used by the engine control unit to match actual engine speed to target engine speed. it has the ability to fully open, fully close or anywhere inbetween. It sits at 1/4 open without power. The IAC will idle your car up while A/C is on, or while you are moving your vehicle. It also is responsible for "floating" your engine RPMs when you are letting your engine decelerate.

Scope:
This DIY wil cover replacement of the Idle Speed Control Actuator (IAC)

you will need:
vice grips or flathead screw driver

Removal:
1. disconnect electrical connection by depressing tab and pulling the jack out from the plug
