Anyone know to remove the cv joint from the main hub/bearing assembly ?

My chilton book explains it pretty thoroughly
But it does not explain really how to pop the joint in (AND OUT) of the main hub/rotor.

According to my shop manual;

Using special tool (09526-11001 [axle shaft puller]), force the drive shaft out of the hub.

NOTE
1) Place a plug in the hole of the transaxle case to prevent contamination
2) Support the drive shaft properly
3) Replace the retainer ring each time the drive shaft is removed from the transaxle case.

The "special tool" look kid of like a U that the legs attaches to two of the lug bolts and i the center is a bolt that you tighten/loosen with a ratchet

Usually it pops out rather easily. If it needs a little force, you can borrow a FWD Axle puller from Autozone, similar to the special tool Hobgoblin mentioned.

Sometimes though it can be rusted to the hub so bad that no puller or torch will get it out.. had to go to a mechanic who had to change the hub and bearing

To get the end of the CV axle out of the hub I used a very simple solution. Doused it in PB Blaster, waited about five minutes, then smacked it on the nose with a sledgehammer. Popped right out, or in, however you want to think about it.
