Ok, that's made me wonder. I already have a 6-inch orbital buffer (Porter & Cable, maybe?) but the only thing that came with it was the foam head (attached) and two cheapo socks to go with it. What size pads work best for for a 6in buffer? 5.5in or 6.5in?
And which pads would be best for just a normal polish and wax job? A green one and a black one?

green and black pads work well with the above.
as for the orbital I prefer the 5.5 inch set up for precision and control

Cool. So one last question... The current buffer I have has just a normal foam head on it. No velcro, and I haven't been able to take it off to put a different backing plate on it. Is it possible to get a sheet of 3M velcro to stick to my buffer and attach these pads to it?
