Its basically a cloud movie service. I dont see it being bigger than buying or renting DVD's. Just another way to access your stuff no matter where you are.
We’ve gone from VHS to DVD to Blue-ray, but soon, there could be a new way to buy movies. It’s called “UltraViolet.”
The idea is aimed at encouraging people to start buying movies again, instead of just renting them from places like Netflix or Redbox.
With UltraViolet, when you buy a movie online or in a store, you get access to a digital copy online. You can watch it on your computer, cell phone, or gaming system anytime.
All the major studios are on board with the plan, except Disney.
The Green Lantern will be one of the first movies to go UltraViolet this fall.
