Ubuntu Linux

Lately there is a noticable trend in computing. People are moving away from the big money making machines in order to have a more "user" oriented experience. Ubuntu is the largest free operating systems out there. It is easy to install. It has a large community support base. The operating system costs nothing and can be installed from within Windows or Mac as a boot option.

Ubuntu is a South African word which means community. Ubuntu is developed by a company called Canonical which sells technical support and other services as an option to it's users. The primary Canonical recommended technical support method is from the internet forums. Ubuntu and Canonical embrase the free software movement. -Free software as in freedom of speech, not free beer.

Ubuntu (32bit or 64bit) can be obtained from the Ubuntu.com website. You can get it by following the instructions in this link. http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download . Canonical would prefer that you use a torrent to download, but they will supply a download directly from their servers or a CD-ROM shipped to your house.

Ubuntu is my favorite operating system currently. My opinion is based upon speed, customizability and price.
