My boyfriend has asked for a sound bar for his birthday to hook up to his tv in his bedroom. I dont know anything about these so i was wondering if you techy people could point me in the right direction for one. He said he doesnt need anything fancy. He just wants one to enhance the sound from the tv. He doesnt have room for a mini shelf system so he thinks this would be the next best solution. Any help you all can give will be appreciated. smile.gif wub.gif

Well, there is no real point in buying an external sound system unless you at least buy a 2.1 sound system. I would recommend a 5.1 system. Sound bars are a bit mobile oriented. If this is to be in a room, get a Dolby digital 2, DTS 5.1 surround sound system with a small form factor. There are many options at best buy and Walmart even.
This is my logic, I would never buy the external equivalent to an internal, integrated system. You can hang a 5.1 speaker as you would a picture in the 4 corners of the room.

Sound bars work great for small areas, like a bedroom...which your boyfriend wants. Theres a few on Amazon and Ebay, but expect to pay a couple hundred for something decent.
