I guess I'm semi-cloud since I use a mycloud drive. At least to my knowledge they can't erase anything on it since it's kept in my home.

Cloud is only good for convenience. If you are using cloud backups only, it is exactly the same as not having backups if the sh*t hits the fan.
ALWAYS have a local copy. Preferably a few, in rotation, including one stored miles away.
