thats wat i did and i got a Vizio 42 inch LCD. havent had ne dead pixels or ne any other problems and ive had it for a like a yr.

Don't do that. 99% of the TV's on display have their settings all fubared. Plus, it won't look the same in your house due to different ambient lighting. Most stores have fluorescent lighting. Most homes do not. Read some reviews once you've picked a size and know what type you want (LCD or Plasma). BTW, almost all LCD panels are manufactured by either LG or Samsung, so if you want an LCD, stick to those two brands.
