The only people who don't like this are the people who wanted to charge more for faster service.

Sooo much spin being put on this... wow.

All I know for certain is that conservatives are tripping all over themselves to find something wrong with it. It was Obama's idea after all.

Wrong. This was talked about 10 years ago. (not Bush's idea either)

The FCC was going to pass rules, but they were not going to classify the internet as a utility until Obama came out in support of the rule.

But that is NOT what you said now was it? You said "It was Obamas idea". It was not. It was the FCC's before him, and many others before the FCC.

You know what Obama said? He said it would be irresponsible for the FCC to pass rules without allowing the public to see the proposed new rules. But that was Candidate Obama. President Obama in his (hopefully) last term said 'f*ckemall do what I want' and had them ram approval of new rules through. 300+ pages of rules. The broad strokes everyone is talking about could fit on maybe three pages.

Me, I'm worried about the other 300 pages. Apparently, so are some other people who are different from me in that they have power over the new regulation. The rules are not released even still, because some of the people on the Commission understand we need to leave the internet free and they are sitting on the editing process and sticking their tongues out at the other folks who want the government to control the whole thing.

It's ugly, but it's politics and politics is ugly.

Apparently, the "it" I'm talking about isn't the "it" you're thinking about. I'm speaking specifically about classifying the internet as a utility. You are apparently thinking about any rule governing the internet.
