I have never been one to ever use torrents, but I needed something that was critical for my laptop last night and had no way of getting it, other than through a torrent site. I am pretty pleased at what I was able to get and will most likely start to use it for some other things.

 

Torrents are the preferred method of distributing open-source software. Ubuntu comes with torrent software installed by default and it makes a lot of sense. The workload is distributed amongst users of the software rather than a server which costs money.
