720p vs. 1080p: Can You Tell The Difference?
http://www.digitaltrends.com/home-th...v-resolutions/
An interesting graph is displayed which supports the use of 720p video for TV and projectors. If true, then, using a 100" screen with a projector, people who are 20ft or more away from the screen cannot tell the difference. |
There is a BIG difference to me when viewing on my 55", 10' or 20' away. On my 65" UHD, any non-1080 picture is ugly as hell.
Directv has always been sending 1080i, which I think is the best mainstream service on the market before going to 4k (or playing a blu-ray). Even then, I notice clarity issues on both of my tv's. Once you stream a solid 4k, you'll see the difference whether 5' or 20' away. The funny thing is, you never really notice or complain about clarity until you're introduced to the next level. |
I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on their chart. 480p is adequate at 20' on a 55" screen? Absolute BS.
