I recently tried Harpoon UFO (hefeweizen), relatively light, but refreshing for sure!

Purple Haze & a local Chili Beer. Purple Haze was a Raspberry Wheat Ale and the Chili Beer was just a local brewery's beer with a chili pepper in it.

Any of the Lagunitas seasonal beers are great.

Actually, I lied. I assumed it was a local brew because I saw Cave Creek on the bottle, and we have a brewery here in a place called Cave Creek.

It's brewed & bottled in Mexico, you should be able to find it any any specialty beer place.

:Q
Damn that looks good. I musty hunt that down.

My latest finds:
Terrapin Hopsecutioner

Ironically (don't ya think?) that's the same glass they gave out last week at Taco Mac pint night but I did not take this image.
I wonder who else discovered this bad boy in July after a trip there? Who ever it was is one lucky bastard!! Try it, love it, praise me |:>

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot '08

This 2 year old barley wine really kicks ass in all manors of the word. 9.6% with a sub 100 ibu.
Highly recommended! But don't get your hopes up, the Pale Ale still sucks.

Victory Golden Monkey

It's awfully sweet for a triple without actually being awful. The taste is above par but it certainly didn't feel or drink like a 9.5.
I had a few of these and walked away like it was nothing, But it was flavorful. Try it and see if you like it. Not bad by any stretch.

Old failthful:
Stone Arrogant Bastard

Not new by any stretch but if you haven't tried it yet go NOW. It's the litmus test by which all good beer is tested.

sh*t to stay away from:
Sam Adams Blackberry Wheat - It just lacks any redeeming qualities. Crap!

Bell's Amber - sh*t sh*t SHITTY sh*t sh*t. Seriously, I will take Applebee's watered down miller lite 50¢ draft Tuesdays ALL DAY before I ever let that pass my lips again! Had to eat a basket of wings to get rid of that awful taste.

You sir have a good taste in beer.

BTW, ever had a terrapin wake and bake. It's a great stout. Or another to try would be Lagunitas- Hopped Stoopid.

Yay for Arrogant Bastard Ale! I remember discovering that for the first time a few years ago! Good stuff indeed.

LOL @ Sam Adams Blackberry Wheat, my girlfriend loves that stuff and it is always in my fridge.

This thread has led me to the conclusion that there needs to be a "pandora" for beer type service, where you enter beers you like and it gives you suggestions on new ones to try (or make!).

Beer advocate has a great rating system and you can pick the style. Not quite the same but I use it to help me decide on my next beer at yon Mac.

Can't say I have tried either. :O But I have seen them at Total Wine and World of Beverage so I'll give them a shot!
My fave Terrapin to date was 30 Strong, but that was a one-off and they'll never brew it again despite my frequent petitions.
