Default Watermelon and Vodka...need advice....

So ok, for the longest time I have been wanting to get a watermelon, poke a hoke in it, pour some vodka in, and let it sit. Thing is....I have never done this, so is there a right way and a wrong way to do it?

Another words....if I get a watermelon say, on Wed or Thurs of this week, poke a hole, pour stuff in, and let it sit in my fridge until Fri night or Sat....will that be long enough time for it?

Also...how much vodka should I pour in? I'm thinking about getting watermelon flavored vodka to use so it goes along with the taste of it. smile.gif

1 Buy a watermelon and a 375 ml bottle of vodka.
2 Cut a circle in the skin of the watermelon, exposing the fruit inside.
3 Open the vodka bottle. Insert the open bottle with good force into the exposed fruit. Note that this will work in seedless watermelons.
4 Let the vodka bottle sit for a while. Do this until the entire bottle has been absorbed into the fruit. Depending on your watermelon this may take a very long time - potentially up to 1 week.
5 Wait a little longer after the bottle is empty. This will ensure that the watermelon can absorb all the delicious flavoring.
6 Put a cork in the hole when traveling to a party.

I suppose the absorption rate will depend on how juicy the watermelon is.
