The common table salt is 99.9% sodium chloride. It is obtained from the terrestrial salt deposits which are mined, heat-blasted and chemically treated.
Granted it was once underwater, it's still far from a natural process now to extract it and make it edible.

I like warm nuts in my hand. Salted or not, it doesn't matter much.
