Martini variations

Hey gang. I've been enjoying variations on the standard gin/vermouth martini.
The first one is made with Roemary gin. I just bought a bottle of Beefeater and dropped 2 big sprigs of rosemary in it and let it perk. The oil from the rosemary is pulled out and flavors the gin. It's a subtle flavor, you smell it more than you taste it.

The 2nd one I tried is a Basil martini. I am a fiend for fresh basil, I can't get enough of it. I pulled 3 or 4 basil leaves off a fresh plant, and shook them in the martini shaker with the gin and lots of ice. The ice bruised the basil and pulled some flavor out. Again, the taste is subtle but pleasant. Garnish with your usual choice, lemon twist or olive and enjoy.

Interesting, and i'm glad to see you didn't go into the retarded list of so called "martinis" that bars and restaurants have come up with these days. Nice to see you enjoying the incorporation of 2 very nice herbs .Any plans on a cilantro martini, lol?
