Deep frying

I bought a new deep fryer last night. My first meal will be tomorrow where im gonna attempt to do my own beer battered fish fry. Anyone have any good tips? i also bought bag of fries and onion rings too. Cant wait to try them out.

Beer batters are easy. Just be sure to coat the fish in flour mixed with salt and pepper first. That way you get the batter to stick well. When you put the fish in the fry basket, hold one end of the piece and let the other start to fry for 5 seconds or so. If you just drop them into the fryer, chances of the fish sticking to the basket are good, then you loose a big chunk of your batter.
