Default Can you grill a pizza?

Say I make a pizza from scratch. Is it possible to throw it on the grill and have it turn out ok, or would it come out really bad?

box pizza - yes I've done it

scratch - unless it's a hard crust it will get stuck on the grill

my guess is that it would get reeeeeally black on the bottom and raw on top.... unless you move the rack all the way up and put like 3 layers of foil on it.... it might be alright

From scratch, make sure you roll the dough out really thin before it goes on the grill (it will not stick, so don't worry about that!) Grill the first side on medium heat until it's a nice brown and crispy. Turn it over and bring the flames down nice and low, put all your toppings on and put the grill lid down. Keep an eye on the crust. When it's close to as brown as the first side, if the toppings are done to your liking, put it on some foil and back on the grill until the cheese is melted and ready to eat. Grilled pizza from scratch is very possible and very delicious!

I had a desert pizza on the grill once.

It was grilled pizza dough brushed with simple syrup. Then, with pineapples, strawberries, whipped cream, and melted chocolate.

It was really good. Maybe you could do the same thing with heated sauce and cheese?

^Yes......you can! I have done hundreds of grilled pizzas. They are easier than oven baked ones,

Now, when you say "grill" do you mean BBQ? I have a very high quality grill with a griddle on the side. I've used it to cook everything from beef ribs to pancakes. Now I think I may just try pizza on it. I think if I regulate the temperature to 400, I could get it to come out well.

here is mine....

Are we talking about this? If so, I am so going to make one tomorrow on my grill.
