Your Rights On the Road. Violated.

Police allowed to secretly put GPS transponder on your car

http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/27/court-r...ted-if-the-pol/

Apparently it is legal for the police to affix a GPS transponder to your car, without you knowing, when it is on the road.

It is, however, illegal to do so if the car is parked on your personal property.

It should be illegal, period. fire1.gif rant2.gif

Scary stuff. I know if I walked outside from a store or wherever and saw a cop underneath my vehicle installing something without my consent....it would not be pretty and I would probably end up in jail for screaming at the cop.

JonGTR 08-30-2010 10:43 AM

What if you found it, took it off, then destroyed it?

Would they then charge you for it? lol

Would they imprison you for destroying gov't property? dbl lawlz

Visionz 08-30-2010 11:28 AM

If I randomly found it, I would remove it and install it on some other car for them to follow around laugh.gif Or just to really screw with them...install it underneath a police car, since they're just attached with high strength magnets. lmao.gif

This is the kind of sh*t that makes me hate our Government.

Hmm...so the inverse is also true? I'm gonna start sticking GPS tracking devices to police cars parked in public so that I can keep track of where they are.

Then youll be arrested and indicted on illegal wiretapping charges like the guy in Maryland who got arrested for filming himself being pulled over with his helmet cam.
