Ok, I'll provide a quick summary of what happened.

I got banned from NT a long time ago because the admin didn't like me (never broke any rules or anything, he just didnt like me - yet he had no problem going to a meet that I set up and enjoyed every minute of it...but that's besides the point).

Since I couldn't post over there, I had my friend Chris - who went by 'seeker2' - post info about the meet so everyone would be updated.

He did this for about 3 weeks. I'd tell him what to post, and he'd post it exactly as I told him.

Today he calls me and informs me that he has been banned - he though maybe I knew why. I was suprised, and thought maybe there was something he wasn't telling me, so I hopped over to NT.com and reviewed each and every one of his posts (48 in total).

You can do the same if you wish: All 48 of seeker2/Chris's posts.

He was never unpolite, barely ever posted anything that wasnt tibathon-related, and never broke any rules.

Seems they banned him soley because he had a link to tibathon.com in his sig.

Thats a bit unfair to him, and going a bit too far, don't ya think?

Seems to me it's because he was advertising for you. Wasn't there a big debate about how NewTiburon tried taking over the last Tibathon? Maybe that's what this is about.

I don't think I would consider updating people about a meet as advertising.

Besides, they have several threads about Tibfest, and people have links to the tibfest website in their sigs.

lol and yeah - NT tried to say tibathon was theres, and that created allot of the bitterness between the mods of that site and I - but they shouldn't hold that against him, he had nothing to do with any of it. Its not fair/right to ban one person who a)you dont even know b)did nothing wrong soley because of something that went on with a completely different person, you know?

If people can post updates and info from all sorts of other sites and meets, he should be able to do the same about the tibathon meet.

And that's all besides the fact that they made no effort to contact him and let him know anything about it. They just did their typical insta-ban.

 

I say fvck em. Dont include them on anything then. If they're not willing to work with you then don't waste your time with them.

yeah - NT.com is more of a political forum than a car forum - heck, they even had to create a sub-forum strictly for politics because thats all people talk about over there. They turn every thread into a political debate.

I talked to a mod over there. They said the reason Chris was banned was because people "thought he was me."

So without any reason other than the false thoughts of others, the mods banned him. Yeah - that's logical.

Got this email from a mod: "No I think he should be banned because he's advertising on our site without
being a sponsor."

Not to pick on Tibfest, or any other site/meet - but there are countless different sites that people link to in their sigs over. HyundaiPerformance.com for example is pretty common - yet that's OK, and no one cares about it.

I'll tell ya - that place makes absolutely NO sense.

I don't want to start with a bunch of shiz between forums, but stuff like this is why I dont' do anything with NT.com .

I looked over there, and you're not even a member any more. Didn't come up in the members list or any searches.
