WTF is a matter with this country??

NO ONE is doing a thing about N.O. - sure, there are donations being collacted, but the overall response to this has been absolutely disgusting.

-Bushed TURNED DOWN international offers of help. Now they are "evaluating" some of those offers.

-People were being shot at when trying to go on an help.

-There are snipers outside of hospitals, people eating corpses because they can't find food, and MP's have been ordered to 'shoot to kill'.


What gets me the most, when 9/11 happened and the nice white-run city of NY was attacked, police, fireman, national guard, and TONS of help was right on the spot. But something happens to a city of mostly black people, and the gov't turns down help, barely offers it's own....it makes me sick to my stomache.

Then you have some cops trying to stop people from looting, while other cops are doing looting of their own. For crying out loud, LET PEOPLE LOOT!! The food will spoil before the stores are ever opened back up, let people who need it get it while it's good - no one else is providing it for them. People want food - they aren't going to steal 36" TV's - it's not like they can get on a rescue bus with that or swim up the highway with a TV on their back.

Then there's the whole "Black people loot, White people find" thing... mad.gif

I'm ashamed of the US Gov't's response to this..it's absolutely appauling.

thats complete crap man. how do you know mps have been ordered shoot to kill? or is that just something you have heard. there is extreme looting of things other than food. every supermarket in the area has been opened up and all of the items inside are free. its the electronic shops that are trying to be protected, people dont need those things to survive, but there are still a lot of people trying to steal them.

keep the race thing going and this will be locked.

CNN and MSNBC are all sitting back and reporting, Fox News has been rescuing people and telling the Military where they need to go to evacuate folks. It's hillarious. BUSH, the president, hasn't turned down any offers. Whomever told you this is completely false. All money is being accepted and all the offers from other countries are being "Evaluated" (Unless you just want foreigners pouring into the country with no idea of where to go and what to do) to see where they fit best. Even the French have offered to bring over some huge water purification systems.

You know Joshuwa, I like you. You've gained my respect in the past few months. This statement is just bullshit doode. Why is everyone trying to turn this into a RACE issue? There are over 20,000 DEAD in the US South from this. 20 FRIGGIN THOUSAND. No one was expecting this to happen this month. Everyone went to bed on Thursday night thinking Florida was getting hit by another small Hurricane, then we wake up to see that this thing went haywire. The President couldn't do anything about it if he tried. No one could. NO had a 72 hour evacuation plan to evacuate the entire city. They had less than 24 hours to do it once they knew where it was gonna hit.

NO one was prepared for this.

What more do you want them to do? 38,000 troops are there and on the way. 6 major US Naval ships are there or on the way. 10.8 BILLON dollars have been marked allready for the emergency with more than 100 Billion still coming. It takes time to get supplies and troops to where they are needed. When roads are missing (Remember all of the bridges down there are out, and I mean OUT.) and clogged with remnants of twenty thousand homes, it takes some time to get stuff done. I feel sorry for every one of those people. Every single one. I see video of blacks, whites, hispanics, all suffering. It has nothing to do with race. You are being misled again Josh. The facts are...

1. SURVIVAL is not looting. Everyone, even the media, has said that folks breaking into a store for food and medicine (Not narcotics) will not be prosecuted.

2. LOOTING is stealing. Looting in this instance is when you see this moron coming out of a Best Buy with 5 Flat Screen TV's in a shopping cart. Hard to eat a TV. LOOTING is walking out of a Foot Locker with 10 pairs of brand new Jordans. That's looting.

3. The Police have been authorized to do several things.

a. Break into stores to secure firearms and ammunition. (Several wal-marts have been found to be missing their entire firearm section and ammo. Wonder where the looters go teh guns...)

b. Break into stores to gain access to tools and equipment to aid in rescue and repair of their equipment to keep the peace.

c. Break into stores to get food and water for themselves. They are all OUT.

The point is though, folks HAVE been stealing Flat Screen TV's. I saw a video yesterday of a bunch of thugs pushing one of those huge display carts full of DVD's and CD's down the street. WTF? The food issue is nil man, it's allready been discussed to the highest levels and been Okay'd for days now. Of course they aren't getting on the busses with this. They are taking the stuff to a place where they can return to get it later.

I'm not. I'm proud of the great job they've done.

1. 2K left in the superdome, that's it.

2. Huge airlift at the Convention center, will be empty today.

3. TENS OF THOUSANDS saved from rooftops and attics all over the area.

4. Texas and other states stepping up and accepting hundreds of thousands of refugees. Yeah, I said REFUGEES (Some moron on Fox News being interviewed said that's a racial term. LOOK IT UP IN THE f***IN DICTIONARY!!!).


What I'm NOT proud of.

1. Gangs and thugs in NO and elsewhere holding hostages and shooting medical personnel to try to get the narcotics from hospitals.

2. Looting. LOOTING. Not survival.

3. Louisiana's Governor not having a flippin clue.

4. NO's mayor pullilng foriegn tourists out of the Hyatt (Wait, isn't he black? AHH!!!) and giving them "Cut's" in line to get out of the city before folks that have been waiting.

5. CNN and MSNBC sitting back and calmly debating and discussing while Fox News is in there rescuing folks with their news choppers and helping the military get to where it is needed.

6. The usual assholes around the country trying to bring race into the mix (I'm not calling you an asshole Josh wink1.gif ), or trying to blame the hurricane on the President because of global warming. ... .... I just don't understand this bullshit.

I'm sorry man, I know everyone is fed up and just heartbroke about this, but things get bad, worse, then better. Today things look MUCH better than they did yesterday. Just try to get a grip and realize how BIG of an issue this is and how BIG the affected area is. It's several missions all at once too. Not like the evacuation is the only thing going on. The sheer size of the area is astonishing. I'm amazed anyone is able to get anywhere right now.

Prove to me in some way, any way, that this is related to race. If it's because there are more blacks than whites down there, it's not anyone's fault but the folks that have chosen to LIVE in those areas. so don't pull that card. This is the BIGGEST disaster ever in the US.

yes i think there is a HUGE DELAY in helping them out here in NM there was a fire that burned half of los alamos all cuz some guy decided to try a controlled burn when there was like 25 mph winds and the day that the fire reached homes there was already food and shelters for the people that lost there homes

no offense to you folks, but you dont know shit. your Gov. is activating natiol guard units all over the country to go help. even people from kirtland AFB are being deployed to the south to go help. the funny thing is kirtland is not an active base. ITS A TRAINING BASE. the reason they have been told shoot to kill is because rescue helicopters are being shot at. the police are being shot at. the military is being shot at. the oath we are given when entering the miltary has a little part in it a little something like this " protect against all enemys forein and domestic. so once they start trying to shoot the help they make themselves an enemy. that shit sucks cause americans are going to be shot by their protectors, but they took it upon themselves to shoot at them. thus making themselves an enemy. and trying to turn this into a race thing makes you sound like a dumb ass. you sound ignorant just like jessie jackson when he said bush hates black folks. call me crazy dont white people live in the south too? and using 9-11 as example... dont black people live in new york???? i think the reason the forein offers for help were turned down is because america is a very proud country. atleast in my eyes we are. maybe even to proud for our own good. hense the reason the offers were turned down.

 

Just to ad upon forien aid being turned down. Look at all the crime that is going on in NO right now. People being raped ( I heard that just the other night 3 girls got raped in the super dome), looting for stupid things that arent needed or even useable right now, and all the people being shot and killed. Now, all of that crime is being committed by the people that actually live there. So just imagine what could happen if we just let anybody and everybody into the country to "help". Im sure we could gain a lot from them helping, but what happens when help isnt needed anymore, how to you control all the people that came over and make sure they all leave. you cant, there would be know way to insure that everyone coming to help would really help. What a better time for terrorists to make their move. I mean, youve go to look at this long term. its gonna be a few years till this thing is back to normal.

 

You know, COMPARED to other Hurricanes that have ravaged the coast in the past (like the hurrican of 1900 that destroyed Galvaston and killed over 4,000 people) the governement has moved pretty quickly. My brother and is unit just got activated from Corpus yesturday and should be helping out in Louisianna by now so the government is helping out. It takes time to get things done and nothing happens over night unfortuantely. It's understandable that people there are upset and angry but this is NOT a race issue. It's not the government's fault, if anything, it's the media that's sensationalizing the facts to get viewers to watch.
It dosn't help when you have ignorant loosers like Kenya West (however you spell that SOB's rappers name) that used the NBC fund raiser to state the Bush dosn't care for blacks. Things like this just cause division instead of unity. This whole unfortunate tragedy was caused by a hurricane and nothing there was done differently then any other place that gets hit by hurricane. No one is to blame as this was a tragic incident and people need to come together and stop pointing fingers at each other in an effort to find fault.
Everyone who lives near the Gulf, including myself, realizes the potential danger that we live under during hurricane season. We choose to live where we live and must accept that these disasters WILL HAPPEN, it's just a matter of time. Unfortuantely this event will be nothing compared to the earthquaket that will eventaully hit California..

 

I think hes been reading too much Drudge Report. They stated that people were eating corpses due to the lack of food but they list alot of stupid crap all the time. Yesterday it was said that Angelina Jolie was the Gov's Good Will Ambasador. So You cant always believe everything u see and hear in the news these days. Especially anything from that site.
