Default when radio stations turn wannabe talk radio

So I spent a few days in my home city of Chicago and for some reason the local RAP station decided to stop playing music for a few hours to "talk about real issues"

Which, being Chicago basically turned into "Jesus christobama is awesome!"

Topics discussed:

Banning all guns in the us cuz only the military and police have the right to kill people (no lie that's how the dj said it)

Republicans are evil rich guys

Only democrats know how to fix the economy and its bush and Regans fault its so bad now

The tea party and occupy movement were setup by the oil company's so they can persuade young impressionable minds to vote republican so they can drill for oil within the cities they occupied

So after roughly 15 minute of proobama/anti-republican talk they asked for republicans to call in with there point of view

When one called in and said "only the German government party had guns and look how well that turned out" they cut him off, hung up on him, and said "we aren't going to let you compare nazis to democrats"

Now, I openly admit I do tend to lean more to the right than the left but come on seriously wtf

I tried to keep a open mind and see both sides but sh*t man this makes it hard to do just that

It's rush hour, people just wanna relax and jam out during there commute. Here is a crazy idea, SHUT THE f*ck UP AND PLAY MUSIC

If people wanted to listen to this sh*t, they probably wouldve turned to a talk radio channel

Gross. I mean, I'm totally a leftie hippy stoner commie student piece of sh*t that needs a haircut and to pull up my pants, but that's just poor argumentive form.

And I agree, almost all FM stations cannot into good talkback. There's just something about the graininess of AM that perfectly conveys the loneliness of old people at 3am.

Change the station. Between FM, Pandora and Satellite, you should be able to find something.

I don't get why some businesses say or do anything political if they really have nothing to gain from it. Like that station, its not going to get a grant for supporting anti-gun stuff. However, they might/will/could/etc alienate themselves from a customer base that is anti whatever they happen to be anti. Play some rock music and stfu about gun control maybe?
