There is a metal gasket like thing inbetween the block and tranny, sometimes that holds on to it, other than that i would REMOVE the TOB release arm which will allow the arm to turn as much as it needs to to let go of the TOB, if you just are moving the TOB release arm while its still bolted down it wont allow it to move enough to let go of the TOB

You can also remove the arm and re-install it upside down and then rotate the handle counter clockwise (looking at it from the top) as far as you can go and it will release the TOB.

Im sure thats your problem

Alex you are my hero! So I flIp the arm over and tap it with a hammer in the counterclockwise fashion and the thing damn near jumps off. I didn't turn more than 1 degree and it fell off.

Haha I WIN!!

The reason you have to take the arm off is because the arm is designed to stop before the fork lets go of the TOB, so you dont release the fork from the TOB while driving.

just kidding, before you install the tranny you must slide the TOB on the input shaft and on the fork at the same time, its a little confusing but youll see what i mean (maybe) and then install the tranny.

After the tranny is bolted on you need to flip the release arm counter clockwise again and force the TOB to lock on the PP.

But for god's sake don't attach the TOB on the PP before you install the tranny!

btw, just to be a little more conceded rule.gif

I had to bolt down my trans, as it didn't want to move any closer than 1 cm to the engine on it's own.

Good luck getting it all back together!

look very carefully, you'll see that it's a spring on the pressure plate that needs to be expanded. it's possible to do it with plyers or ring expanders. I sat the TOB on the handle of a screw driver, ballanced in my lap, pushing downwards on the pressure plate and fiddling with the spring until it found it's way out. You just need to expand the spring so that the TOB slips out of the pressure plate.

.. takes a while, but you'll get it.
