Well even though the weather here in Maryland has been crappy for over a week...i decided to do something i have putting off, mainly cuz i got bored today...

if people dont know I purchased a 1998 Accent with Beta swap Turbocharged, it is base model and did not come with power steering and AC as well the most important thing for a turbo car...A GODDAMN TACH

so with the help of a beloved Denisst99, i was able to install a tach from a 1999 Accent GSI...

the wiring diagram was perfect, down to the color of the wires...first time i have seen the wires being the same in two different Hyundai's

Thank you Dennisst99 your the man...

dont have a before pic...but here is after

hahaa thing's a beast! i wish i could go on some good old hyundai wrx whuppings after school. i'd be like a crazy scientist using the roads for experimenting. HAHA

keep it up! i don't think the outside needs much either, makes the impression that much better.

mwood 05-07-2009 07:43 PM

im not doing anything to the outside...

only thing im doing is lowering springs and 15" rims maybe...i might throw the stock rims from tiburon on there until then

Looks good, some day, I will have goodies like that on my Tib.

Also, I thought you lived in Detroit? I know I talked to you before about the Detroit Auto Show, and you mentioned living there, and it says Detroit on your info.

^^^

I'm born and raised in Detroit, that's why is says "FROM: DETROIT IN SOMD (southern maryland)"...I'm stationed in MD because of US Navy, i been stationed in CA, VA and MS

Now you just need to fix the wiring debacle!

mwood 05-07-2009 09:10 PM

yeah...not really looking forward to it...lol, i had to disconnect the battery, when doing wiring... so all the codes erased and i lost the paper, I had them written on

edit...
I posted them on the site and copy and paste them to a word file

Denisst99 05-07-2009 09:42 PM

glad it helped you
i knew it would help a few person to write down all those notes ;-)

yeah i agree! it reminds me of when my dad and i went to the dealer and test drove one of these brand new and i thought even the $6,000 my dad brought them down to (with A/C!) was not worth the quality of that car LOL. but great deal for a brand new commuter car.

our stock rims are some 20 pounds or so, my larger 17's are 17 pounds so you can see how much weight reduction that is alone. i've seen some 14 pound rotas that could shed some nice weight since accents are all about that. definitely going to be an interesting summer with a project like this!

sorry i can't help! i know absolutely the bare minimum about tampering with electrical schematics. it's definitely more worth putting time into rather than money.

What did you use to attache the gauge there? Both sides of the steering wheel is where I want to put my 2 gauges just like the way you have yours there.
