The main reason the press is geeking out about it tho is that (a) it's a distraction from the .gov's actions and (b) the reporters are all in the "you betta watch it sucka" age bracket. People alive in '57 may have some immunity because of a previous, similar virus.

Oh, and when you see how the 'swine' flu is the only one out there and it's world's end horrible, just remember a lot of places aren't testing anymore there are so many cases of flu. . . when the regular seasonal (10,000s dead annually) flu season comes, don't be surprised to see it all attributed to the Mexican flu.
