So i get up this morning right. Go to class an hour away from my house. So far everything is fine. I leave my boring ... java class and head to get my oil changed before work. I pull up and get out give em all the info blah blah blah.... When they go to pull my car into the bay the battery is DEAD and it wont start. They push it in and change the oil. Then they tell me its dead. To which they do NOT carry a battery for our cars.
So they push start my car and i find an autozone buy a battery and root through an endless amount of sockets trying to find a 12 MM to fit the batter tie down to get the old one out. After about 30 min of rooting through i finally find one. Replace the damn battery and get on my way. On top of all this im not supposed to be doing any heavy lifting due to shoulder injury so now my car runs but shoulder hurts like hell. But i guess its the price we pay!

What'd you do to your shoulder?
Why didn't you try jumping it first? Or charging the battery?
Why are you letting con-artist mechanics change your oil for you? tongue.gif

From what I've seen it's pretty rare for your battery to just "go bad", it could be your alternator..guess you'll know in the next day or two if you stall again.

Old sports injury haha. Torn rotator cuff 3 times over now. If doesnt get better in 6 week i go in for MRI and possibly surgery.

They didnt have a working battery jumper so we pushed it. Either way still worked. I dont have the proper tools to change the oil filter and it needed done so i took it in. Its the original battery that came with the car and its been acting up the last few days sounded a little weak when starting. I thought it was the starter but it turns out its the battery.

Zoned if it was the alternator they would not have been able to push start it either.

sux man, glad u got it sorted out

tibby01 they push start it when jumpers or chargers arent available. im assuming this is the case, i always keep a battery charger/starter thing in my car, its real convenient, esspecially since u dont need another car or a plug. it was only about 30 bucks and ive used it about 15 times, only on my own vehicle twice lol, once when i bought it and another time when i emptied my already nearly drained battery blipping my engine.

Wait... what tool to change the oil filter? I just grab it, turn it, and remove it.
