Okay I had a little mishap yesterday. Most of the car is okay is okay I messed up a couple of things like the fender and especially my wheel. 02.gif
Here is the tire, I think I have a pretty good case to get a new one and maybe a new rim. I need some advice.

And here are the pictures of the damage. This really sucks @$$
Before

After

Here is my fender kinda sucks but no big deal

And my side skirt, again not a big deal.

But here is my delema (???) my friend is the one who sold these tires to me and he has since changed companies, so 1. I don't want to bother him cause it'a not his fault. 2. the old company has nothing to do with the new company, other than the name. So anything he sold before the change he cannot claim. Different vendor's and such things I have no idea about.
So my only option is too see if I can get a new tire, possibly a rim (I doubt it though) directly from Kuhmo. Anyone have an opinion?? This is the second summer I've used them. 6 month's of use tops. There was really no warning, if you look at the before pics that is what the tire looked like. Then the after pics, well you can see what I mean, I blew a sidewall. THink it's worth a shot?? I dunno, this is a first, and I definitely can't repair the rim!

:?: I dunno, I was just going down the highway, and it went. It was cold outside, and judging by what some have said that may have been the cause. I went over an overpass and I hit some of the bumps on there pretty hard. Actually a lot harder than normal. So I slowed down to see what the deal was. I moved over to the right lane, and BOOM, before I could get to the shoulder, off goes the tire.
So I think it a failure on their part but I've never had a tire blow like this out of nowhere. It was in the exact same shape as the other that is pictured.

good luck w/ trying to settle w/ kumho. most tire companies aren't willing to pay out for every blow out that occurs with their tire. there are so many contributing factors to soemthing like that. something as simple as hitting a pothole, to poor care of the tire such as under/over inflation, lack of rotation, poor suspension parts etc....
sucks to see/hear about what happened to ya, but i'm pretty sure you're gonna have to eat this one out of pocket...

yea... I hate to agree here.. but the most you might get is a new tire. I would contact a rim repair place and at least see if it can be repaired cheaper than buying new.

I appreciate the comments, even though they weren't what I WANTED to hear.
As for the rim, it is unrepairable, I didn't get off the road fast enough and it took a bad gouge (???) out of it. Not a pretty site.
Like I said earlier, this is the first time I have had a blowout, so I wasn't sure what the deal was. I definitely didn't want to call up some head office somewhere and sound like an ass trying to get something for free. Guaranteed this was my fault but I wasn't sure what the deal was. Thanks guys.

Dude, A tire company is'nt going to give you a new tire after you blew it hitting a pot hole! ... holy hell look at the dent in the rim!

I hear you man, but the damage was done to the rim because the tire was not there!!!
The tire blew and I actually ground the rim down that much cause I was on the highway. I pass the spot everyday, and there is a huge gouge in the road from the right lane to the shoulder.
