That whole board is retarded when it comes to tuning. They think they can bolt on a turbo and say "f-it, I'll tune the thing later."
Then they wonder why their car exploded.

"OMG, I'm flooring my turbo car WITHOUT it being tuned. I wonder why it's violently jerking?"
http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46448

"Ehh, I'll just pull some timing here and there on my butt-dyno. That should be ok."
http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46442

"BS! I may not have tuned the car or have a wideband but I know it's not running lean with the SAFC tuning it. Just because my motor blew up, doesn't mean anything!"
"Oh yea, well I'm gonna rebuild a motor with the same detonated pistons and still use a head spacer. That'll show you I'm still right!"

Have to give the last guy credit though, he finally understood and is gonna use the standalone.

HAHAHAHHA! LMAO, nice impressions.

Why did you even go there? Don't even try to talk sense into anyone there or even try to teach a newbie something. Just let them be, I go there strictly for planning meets in the NW section because I've learned my lesson the first time I ventured off into the "off-topics" (OMG!...) and "turbocharger" forums. They don't know squat and if you fight w/ them they ban you.

Just sit back and laugh.

Most of my car friends drive the new Tib, so I hang out in the regional forum. But every now and then I'll pop into the FI one.

same here,. I was gonna tell all my NW friends to go to tibsunited but I like the nt set-up better and they are hooked on that damn site so there's no way in hell they'd leave.

Oh well, I'll just have to seek out all the RD's in my neighborhood that don't know about this site (all college girls btw...I'm tellin ya RD1's are girlie cars unless you make them look mean wink1.gif )

most people over there are willing to spend $3,000 on a new engine than $3.00 on a book about turbochargers.

The funniest part of that last link is the guy spent $15-20k on a GK, thousands of dollars on a turbo kit, then another $2,500 on the install, and the dyno shows that he only has 170 hp at the wheels. Which gives him the same hp/weight ratio as an RD! All that money when he could have got the same performance from an RD/RD2 for a fraction of the cost.

Ugh, how could that guy hack up his AEM like that? More money than common sense.

The term is "more money than brains" in the real estate biz....
