Ericy321s Brother
So here's my story, and before I state anything, this is not a personal attack on Ericy321 or even his brother. This is just a event by event listing of exactly what transpired while I was trying to sell my Tib.
Around April 9th - Ericy321 Contacts me and tells me his brother is interested in the Tib. I say cool and ask him to get back to me.
Around April 27th - Ericy321 Confirms that his brother is selling his car and will buy mine the following week. I ask for a small deposit specifically stating that it is refundable ONLY IF I cannot make the sale OR if he finds something wrong with the car and decides not to purchase. I did NOT state that I would refund it for any other reason.
April 28th - Ericy321's brother sends me a $50 deposit for the car.
April 30th - Ericy321 informs me that his brother sold his old car for a part cash + other car deal. He confirmed that he was going to sell the other car, a Camaro I think, and use that money to purchase my vehicle and that the deal should be closed quickly.
Around May 3rd - Ericy321 lets me know that his brother is still trying to sell the Camaro and that he's got a few interested buyers and it's just a matter of time.
Around May 7th - I talk to Jeff, Ericy321's brother, and he informs me that he has not sold the Camaro yet, and will take out a loan instead to sell the car.
May 10th - Jeff basically tells me he cannot get a loan from anywhere and he hasn't sold the car yet. He tells me that he really wants the car but cannot make the purchase and 'releases' me from holding the car any longer.
May 11th - Jeff asks for a Refund of the $50, saying "i know you had told my brother that you would refund the down payment $50. I would appreciate it if you would but i guess it is up to you".
May 13th - I respond to Jeff telling him that I WILL refund the $ amount when the car sells - I don't want to keep $50 that doesn't belong to me, from a guy in need of $. BUT I remind him of the only two conditions that I accepted for a refund.
Around June 6th - I sell my Tiburon and post the remaining items for Sale. Jeff immediately emails me asking for the $50. I do not see the email till I return from my work trip on June 12th
June 10th - Jeff files a Paypal complaint on me, stating that he tried to contact me by phone, email several times. In actuality, I have not received any phone calls from Jeff since May 7th'ish. (That's when I lose it!) and he emailed me once since then, which I stated above.
June 21 - Paypal refunds the amount to Jeff and closes the case.
This could have been handled so much better. I already told him that I would refund his money - had he not resorted to such pathetic attempts. I would've done so upon my return. I'm a trusted member on these boards and I've never disrespected anyone, out of sheer respect for what I've learnt here. I've done tons of business, saved tons of money and even saved people some green.

Hey man, when did you get the complaint? I wish you would have just gotten in touch with me and I would have just got the complaint dropped. I hadnt talked to him about the car at all. Sorry for the way this was handled. He knew he would have to wait until the car sold and I should have been more involved in this.
I know he did really want to pick the car up and wasnt to happy about having to release it again.
I have been here a long time as well and I havent had any problems on here. I asked him about it and he said the only reason it was filed was because he didnt know you were out of town and paypal only has a certain time period you can file during. Im not saying that it was right but he just didnt want to lose money. I wish it wouldnt have happened like it all did and I apologize
