Colby was involved in a Hit and Run today
So my beloved Colby was involved in a hit and run today. I was at work and I come out to find my headlight popped out. I thought this was quite odd. After further inspection, I find that my rocker panel is scrapped and so is the bumper all round the bottom of my headlight. After even further inspection, i discover this nice big crack at the bottom of my headlight. The bumper is scrapped all the way down but no dent. However my handmade black bezel headlight is.... will.... destroyed because of the crack.
I filed a police report and i have to call the insurance company tomorrow. But i will probably just get their opinion on it because I dont want a hit and run on clean insurance record. Even though it wasnt my fault. Plus i have a 500.00 deductible. The bumper and rocker panel are fixable and I am pretty sure I can find an HD that was totaled because of a rear end accident for a new headlight. It just sucks I have to take it apart and paint it again.
Hopefully I can find that spray can around my house so its the exact same color paint.
Anyone know any really big and good junkyards? Thanks

so here is the update:
I got with walmart and got video of the person hitting Colby. however on the video we cannot make out the plate. but here is some good news: the truck that hit Colby is a very old GMC Sierra truck and when I say old I mean old. Like around 1998 or 1999. I have been working with the police to find the person who hit Colby because we have the video. There are only a handful of those trucks still registered in VT which is good. I have to call the police tonight to see if they found anything. I doubt it though.
The damage comes to $1,147.00!! I have a $500.00 deductible on my collision so that is what I will be paying.
