Default Wierd Rumbling Noise

I took my car in to the dealer and told them about this rumbling noise I heard only when I was turning left... Dropped it off and they said they couldn't find anything... but they took the wheels off.. put them back the noise went away? I was thinking maybe my wheel balance was off and they fixed it... Any comments?

If the wheel balance was off, you would hear it all the time, not only when turning left. If you hear a noise only when turning, it is usually a CV joint. Check your CV boots, see if they replaced one. If so, also check your service sheet to see what work they did on the car.

If you CV boot cracked and allowed crap into the CV joint, it will probably die. The shop might have just re-packed the joint with new grease and put a new boot on, hoping it will last you untill you run out of warranty.

It could also be a wheel bearing, or an out of round brake rotor. An out of balance wheel would have cause shaking and vibration/noise all the time, mostly when driving straight, not when turning....
