It looks to be a decent setup for the money. It is untested as far as I know, so it may blow up the very first time it is used. Our cars are lightweight so it may last a long time. They are very adjustable and obviously not an extremely cheap POS kit. I'd ask for customer data or something. I wouldn't want to spend $900 on something to find out that there's a small problem that I cannot correct.

After doing some more reading, some Honda guys have had problems with drifting setups, but they're supposed to be great for FWD cars. It's still risky though.

ONLY1DB 11-24-2008 07:10 AM

i would just go with some ksports....or even the TEINS....thats what i have on my elantra and i love them!! 80k on coils and still going strong.

StrikeEagle 11-24-2008 08:53 AM

They're pink. Tell you anything?

Mad_john 11-24-2008 09:07 AM

TEINS.... is what i want but i can find shit on them and even here if i ask for the N# no one knows shit. its like its a guarded serceat.. so if someone has the kit # or pn# for tein.

and there not pink there purple.. LOL lmao.gif

REDZMAN 11-24-2008 10:23 AM

I posted about these last year I think, it might have been this year, see what everyone said in that thread.

Try em!

I see the Tiens on the Korean sites all the time. Hell, I think in that last coilovers thread I posted in I posted the Tiens for us.

Mad_john 11-24-2008 10:39 AM

i want to pick them up from the states. as it stands now. teins were 3200 usd a month ago now there 2400.. so you guys see my problem i want the best but to me a fellow drivers feedback is paramount.

REDZMAN 11-24-2008 10:52 AM

Tiens from the states?

You know I'll help you out if I can my man. I'll do some looking this week.

Ericy321 11-24-2008 11:08 AM

Redz, didnt Bill have some coilovers to be tested for us?

REDZMAN 11-24-2008 11:12 AM

Yup, there's a thread about them in the KFX section.

Ericy321 11-24-2008 11:22 AM

By the way I think those are more pinkish. And Tein setup with electronic controller would be HOT! hail.gif

Expensive though. My brother has it on the MR2.

(sorry for ot...)

optimoprime 11-24-2008 12:29 PM

they are pink but what does that matter?? just makes it easier to see you have some real suspension under the car.

I can setup an appointment with Tein to hatch out the similarities of the GK Super Street setup and how it works with my RD. They've asked me to come in for like 2 years about this. MJ what do you think? If I can get you a set of SS coilovers for around 1200-1400 bucks would it be worth it to you? I know for sure once we have them fitted to the RD we'll have access to the EDFC functions like the bastard GK drivers do. I'm finally out of hot water, and I think this would be a great way to spend a little bit of my time.

Ericy321 11-24-2008 05:25 PM

Chris I would LOVE to see if we could get the EDFC on our Tibs. My brother has it and its incredible. Definately interested but for the cash it would be waiting a bit.

I sure am intrested. what time frame are we looking at here. and how long. i know for a fact that shipping will be about 92 dollors because i sent a set of shocks to bhurlin coustomer in VA.

Denisst99 11-24-2008 11:32 PM

D2 are the same shocks then k-sports..
exept they are purple..
at firts they were available in europe...

same part. different name

i'd look for the k-sport gt-pro if you're on a budjet and want the best bang for your bucks

ONLY1DB 11-25-2008 06:13 AM

the teins should bolt right in!! the only thing i had to do for my XD was to swap the left with the right so the brake lines match up. your suspensions are the same as the xd so iirc you would have to do the samething....

your sway bar attaches to the control arm right??? if so you will have no issue....the front springs will be a little stiffer then they should be but man the ride is awsome!!!

btw i paid 1600 bucks for my set 4 years ago...i dont have the controller though...there really isnt a need...if your racing something its easy to adjust manually.

REDZMAN 11-25-2008 07:00 AM

^^^
Don't reset your sig to the same thing again, fix it to fit the forum guidelines.

optimoprime 11-25-2008 09:40 AM

THE REAR SUSPENSIONS OF THE XD AND RD ARE DIFFERENT!!!!

FlyRyde 11-25-2008 11:11 AM

Exactly. The XD and GK are the same, the RD (technically the elantra) and the RC (stupid hyundai messing with us) are the same. I just want to see how much diff the mounts are on the RD vs. GK. I'm sure Tein should have something that'll be perfect. Think about it, they can assemble components with different spring rates, knuckle mounts, top mounts, gas cylinders, etc. in any arrangement they want. As long as EDFC works, and they dont have to do any R&D or MAKE anything new, just assemble diffrent parts, then we'll be fine. But I doubt they'll EVER sell more than 10 sets worldwide unless we get MJ to spill the beans to all the Race Teams in K country.

Ericy321 11-25-2008 11:24 AM

I would just love that option. Hopefully I could get the money for it. Would be soooo sweet.

FlyRyde 11-25-2008 11:33 AM

I'm just curious if we could just, like, drill a new hole in for the rear strut mount and use the Teins on the RDs. I'll setup an appointment with them.
