wheels and alignment

I know this may sound like a dumb question, but here goes anyway. I was thinking of getting some 17s for my tib, and I was wondering if I need to get an alignment after I put the wheels on. I know you have to after you lower the car, but I didn't know about after putting on wheels.

It probably wouldn't hurt to get an alignment, but I highly doubt that getting wheels swapped makes it necessary (I've never had any problems).

It is not "necessary" but reccomended. If your alighment is off, you will wear out your new tires rather fast. Also, the wider tires will experience more extreme wear at the edges if you have a bad alignment.

It's a sound investment in your tire life. Unless you are planning on getting lowering springs within the next few months, I would invest in the alightment.

You WILL need the alignment after installing new springs or struts.
