What's more important: Curb Weight or Weight Ratio?
I've always read about cars weight ratios and people advising against getting a carbon fiber hatch because your "taking weight off the wrong end" or people saying that it's better to leave a spare tire in for a more proper weight ratio. Is taking off weight always better no matter where it comes from and how does it affect a FWD vs a RWD or AWD car.

Suspension setup and engine output are more important than either, within reason. That said, unless you are spending lots of time on the track, neither should be much of a concern. If you remove weight and it affects balance, and you don't notice the difference, it doesn't matter what you do. If you add weight to get balance . . . wacko.gif
it depends on what you're using the car for. if you're using it at a drag strip then you want the weight over the tires with traction, if you're looking for better handling you want the weight distributed evenly. if you want both then you need to balance between the two
