squeling w/ strut bars

I got the front and rear strut bars and when I went around turns normal speed about 35-40 there was a small squel from the back inside tire, they made it so there was no more body roll, I was driving in slow traffic before hand so the tires may have not warmed up yet. is it this or the strut bars
it was squel but felt in control. thanks

I dont have the strut bars but I have had the squeel before. It has happened when I had the rear tires over inflated. It was making the back end basically start to come loose.

Well, strut bars limit body flex so the forces on the tires are not applied the same way as before when cornering.

strut bars are on my list.. but I almost hate to think what they are going to do to the handling of my Tib.. as she is set up now.. I have no problems bringing the rear around.

Same here. I took the Tib out for a little bit of handling for the first time the other day. Wanted to see if it was up to the hype, and it was pretty good for a under-powered FWD car. I own the Civics in the twisties. Course stock tires are no good either. I'm glad my Tibby has no ABS though, one of the props of buying a entry-level Tibby. No ABS is worth more than a moon-roof and leather seats any day. laugh.gif

yes, the lack of ABS does wonders for bringing the rear around in a tight corner.. must be the reason I go through rear brakes and tyres faster than the fronts

In the turn there was less lean, bodyroll, I like them a lot because of this

I would rather have a quick chirp than bodyroll It helped bring the rear around very controlable

how about no abs plus a moonroof and leather interior.

What's a squel?

I've never seen a RD with ABS.

I think it was an option on the last year (99) FX.. mine has the light and it is mentioned in the owner's manual.. but being an non-FX, I do not have it.
